The Proteas Women will close out their home summer with a blockbuster five-match T20I series against world champions India from April 17–27. With both teams drawn in the same group for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June, this series offers a crucial tactical look at a primary rival while giving South African fans a chance to see stars like Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp in action.
The Road to the World Cup
South Africa and India are currently fine-tuning their squads for the 2026 T20 World Cup (June 12 – July 5). Captain Laura Wolvaardt highlighted the importance of this specific opponent:
“This is a very exciting series… taking on India in our backyard, particularly after last playing each other in the World Cup final last year. We are also in the same group as them for this year’s T20 World Cup, so we will take a lot from these five matches.”
